This very unassuming place was the venue for our last dinner on our epic South Africa tour. Please do not get turn off by the pictures you may see on Google maps as those we saw didn’t do it justice. We had very good service rendered to us, with the explanation and us asking too many questions. As it was approaching winter, customer load was low and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. Food was generally yummy and price point affordable. Just one note: when driving, google map did not indicate there is parking inside the restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant is via a parking area that the building surrounds (and not from the main roads along it).

What an experience. A candle made out of beef fat & burned onion ash to be enjoyed with bread; genius. The ostrich tartar was heavenly. My husband loved the mussels with its curry flavour. Service out of this world.

Would give 4,5 stars. Very nice fine dining in the heart of Stellenbosch. Small portions which I didn’t mind and very helpful sommelier with good guidance and explanation/recommendation. I’d say that the little starters were not the best in terms of flavors but only went up from there !
